The Air Show, officially “FourLeaf Air Show”, took place at Jones Beach State Park in Wantagh, New York in Memorial Day weekend (May 24–25, 2025). This annual two-day event features an lineup of both military and civilian performers, including the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Army Golden Knights, and a variety of historic warbird displays. It draws spectators from across the country.
Due to a scheduling conflict, I was only able to attend the Sunday show. While admission is free, we purchased VIP tickets to secure a great viewing spot.
The air show officially began at 10:00 a.m., but we arrived much earlier to beat the traffic. Before the show started, walking along the beach and boardwalk, one can soak in the cheerful families, soaring seagulls, clear blue sky, cotton-like clouds, and the refreshing early summer breeze. It was the perfect setting and a perfect day to enjoy the show.
飞行表演 (正式名称为“四叶飞行表演”)在2025年阵亡将士纪念日周末（5月24日至25日）于纽约旺塔的琼斯海滩州立公园隆重登场。这项一年一度的两天活动汇集了军用与民间飞行表演队伍，包括美国空军雷鸟飞行表演队、美国海军、美国陆军金骑士跳伞队以及多种历史战机展示，吸引了来自全国各地的观众。
由于日程冲突，我只能参加周日的表演。虽然活动对公众免费开放，但我购买了VIP门票，以便占好位置, 更好地观看表现。
表演于上午10点正式开始，但我们早早到达，以避开交通高峰。在表演开始前，在海滩和木板路上悠闲地散步，可以尽情地欣赏着温馨的家庭氛围、翱翔的海鸥、湛蓝的天空、棉花般的云朵和初夏宜人的微风。这样的环境和天气，堪称观赏飞行表演的完美之选。

The air show kicked off with the New York State Police flying their Bell UH-1H helicopter. It’s obviously not built for fancy tricks, but they did a pretty good job cruising around up there.
飞行表演一开始是由纽约州警察驾驶贝尔 UH-1H 直升机登场的。虽然这架飞机明显不是用来表演特技的，但他们在空中绕一圈也挺不错的, 算是尽心尽力。

Next up was the aerial performance by the U.S. Army Parachute Team, known as the Golden Knights. It was pretty amazing to watch—the aircraft performed acrobatic maneuvers while the team members seemed to dance gracefully through the air. They landed right on target, in an area surrounded by spectators. Later in the day, the same team performed again. For convenience. I’ve included all of their photos here.

I’ll show the photos in sequential order, though I may have missed a few performances.
The 106th Rescue Wing of the New York Air National Guard put on a three-part demonstration featuring the HC-130 and HH-60. The first part showcased the impressive C-130 Hercules—a large transport aircraft used for tactical airlift, airdrops, and humanitarian missions. The second part highlighted the HC-130J, a version specifically designed for in-flight refueling of helicopters and tilt-rotor aircraft. The final part featured the Sikorsky HH-60 Pave Hawk, a combat search and rescue (CSAR) helicopter.
接下去我会按照表演出场顺序来放照片，不过有些表演可能没拍到。

The U.S. Navy’s F/A-18F Super Hornet demo team—aka the “Rhino Demo Team”—put on an awesome show with their fighter jet roaring over the beach and right above our heads. It was loud—I had to put in my earbuds just to block out the noise. The speed and sharp moves in the air were seriously impressive!
The team did a different type of the show later, and I’ve put those photos here as Part 2.
美国海军的F/A-18F超级大黄蜂表演队（也叫“犀牛表演队”）带来了一场超酷的飞行秀，战斗机在海滩上空、就在我们头顶呼啸而过，声音大得惊人，我只能戴上耳塞来隔绝噪音。那高速飞行和各种灵活的空中动作，真的太震撼了！

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, flying F-16 Fighting Falcons, put on a super fast and high-energy performance. Their speed and agility in the air were absolutely unmatched!
美国空军雷鸟飞行表演队驾驶F-16“战隼”战斗机，带来了一场高速又充满动感的表演。他们在空中的速度和灵活性，简直无可匹敌！

The U.S. Navy team came back for another round—this time with the F-35C Lightning II Demo Team. The F-35C is a fifth-generation, long-range stealth strike fighter made for aircraft carrier operations. It’s gradually replacing the older F/A-18C/D Hornet as the main strike jet for carrier groups.
The F-35C is famous for its stealth, high-tech sensors, and ability to take on multiple roles. When it roared across the sky, it felt like a flying lion—crazy loud and even faster than the F/A-18. My earbuds didn’t stand a chance against that noise!
This demo also had two separate parts at different times, so I’ve split the photos into two parts as well.
美国海军再次登场，这次带来的是F-35C“闪电II”表演队。F-35C是一款第五代、远程隐形打击战斗机，专为航母作战设计。它正在逐步取代F/A-18C/D“大黄蜂”，成为航母打击群的主力战斗机。
F-35C以它的隐身能力、先进传感系统和多任务功能而闻名。当它在天空中呼啸而过时，感觉就像一头飞天雄狮，噪音巨大，比F/A-18还要快，连耳塞都挡不住它的震撼！

After the thrilling fighter jet demo, the American Airpower Museum brought out some classic warbirds—including the Douglas C-47 Skytrain, Boeing B-29 Superfortress “Doc,” P-51 Mustang, P-40 Warhawk.
在震撼人心的战斗机表演之后，美国空中力量博物馆展示了一系列经典的老式军机，包括道格拉斯 C-47“空中列车”、波音 B-29“超级堡垒”号“Doc”、P-51 野马战斗机、P-40 战鹰。

In between the vintage aircraft displays, there was a cool U.S. Navy Tailhook Legacy Flight featuring the Grumman F8F Bearcat. The Grumman F8F Bearcat is a classic American carrier-based fighter that showed up near the end of World War II. It flew with the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and even a few other countries’ air forces during the mid-20th century. Fun fact—it was the last piston-engine fighter built by Grumman.

The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk was a tough, single-engine, single-seat, all-metal fighter that pulled double duty as a ground attack plane during World War II. It was flown by the U.S. and other Allied forces and became one of the war’s most iconic aircraft.

The 105th Airlift Wing of the New York Air National Guard showed off their massive C-17 Globemaster III cargo jet. This beast is 174 feet long with a wingspan just under 170 feet. It’s powered by four Pratt & Whitney F117-PW-100 engines and flown by a three-person crew—a pilot, co-pilot, and loadmaster.

Aarron Deliu, an Aussie pro aerobatic pilot and airshow performer, one of the best airshow pilots in the World, took things to the next level at Jones Beach—pushing the limits with some seriously wild moves!

David Windmiller is another top-notch aerobatic pilot and the chief pilot at Xperts Aviation based in Farmingdale. He’s a true Long Island local—grew up here and runs his business here too. When it comes to aerobatics, he’s the real deal: a speed demon, daredevil, and all-around powerhouse rolled into one.

Last—and probably the best of the day—was the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds flying their F-16 Fighting Falcons. Unlike earlier demos with just two jets, this one had multiple fighters flying together in tight formation. Their high-speed, razor-sharp maneuvers made for the perfect grand finale to an amazing day at the airshow.
最后登场的，也是当天最精彩的表演，可能非美国空军雷鸟飞行表演队莫属了。他们驾驶着 F-16“战隼”战斗机震撼亮相。不同于之前只有两架战机的演出，这次是多架战机编队齐飞，配合默契。高速飞行、精准动作，让这场空中秀以最完美的方式落下帷幕。
