The Slaty Flowerpiercer (Diglossa plumbea) is a small, specialized highland bird found in Costa Rica and western Panama. It has dark slate-gray plumage, a slender hooked bill adapted for piercing flowers to access nectar, and feeds on nectar, fruits, and insects. It inhabits cloud forests, mountain woodlands, and forest edges.
