The Seven Lakes area is nestled within Harriman and Bear Mountain State Parks in the Hudson Valley of New York. While the scenery is breathtaking throughout the year, autumn is particularly stunning, as the trees and meadows burst into vibrant colors, attracting thousands of visitors eager to hike or take a leisurely drive.

Once you leave NYC, take Palisades Parkway or Highway 87 to Route 9W, and after about an hour, you’ll reach Seven Lakes Drive. As you travel along this scenic route, you can enjoy panoramic views of the beautiful landscapes, creating a visual feast for the senses.

Fort Montgomery 蒙哥马利堡

Fort Montgomery is on the west bank of the Hudson River next to the Bear Mountain, not far from Seven Lakes area, so I took the opportunity to visit this famous site of the Revolutionary War. On October 6, 1777. American patriots had fierce battle against British. Although the defending American Patriots lost the fight due to outnumbering 3 to 1 by British force and its ally, the battle delayed the British from sailing up the Hudson River in time to relieve Burgoyne’s forces at Saratoga. More than half of the Patriot forces were killed, wounded or captured. There is a museum to memorialize the fort and the battle in the original site.

The surrounding scenery is fascinating and astonish.

A thought at a moment…

Autumn, the Season of Nirvana

Dancing in the air and the branches

Is condensed green spring and orange summer,

Blown onto the lake of the blue

And into the warm black earth,

by unromantic wind.

The past days turned into dusty gray

while immersing in the chorus of the golden.

Waiting for the baptism of winter white,

Or reborn from ashes,

To have a different season for showing.

秋天，涅槃的日子

在枝头和空中飞舞的，

是浓缩的春天的绿和夏天的橙，

被不解风情的风，

吹进在蓝色的湖，

温暖的黑土。
