The American White Ibis (Eudocimus albus) is a distinctive wetland bird recognized by its entirely white plumage, black-tipped wings, long curved red bill, and reddish legs. Common in coastal marshes, mangroves, and freshwater wetlands, it forages by probing mud and shallow water for crustaceans, insects, and small aquatic prey. In Costa Rica, it is often seen in coastal lagoons and mangrove habitats.
