The Long-tailed Tyrant (Colonia colonus) is a small, elegant flycatcher found in tropical forests from Central to South America, including Costa Rica. It is recognized by its strikingly long, forked tail, black-and-white plumage, and upright posture. It perches conspicuously on exposed branches, feeding mainly on flying insects captured in agile aerial pursuits.
