The Rufous-tailed Jacamar (Galbula ruficauda) is a colorful tropical bird found in forests, woodland edges, and riverbanks from Central America to northern South America. It has brilliant green plumage, a long pointed bill, and a distinctive rufous-colored tail. An agile insect hunter, it catches butterflies, dragonflies, and other flying insects from exposed perches.
